What is Community?
NEOU has launched a new feature that brings the power of Community and the support of Friends directly to members within the app itself! Members can now connect directly with each other, share accomplishments, cheer each other on, and much more.
We believe having a support system is the key to success on your health and fitness journey. Our new Community feature allows members to choose from thousands of on-demand workouts and find their community, cheering squad, and inspiration in one place on NEOU.
How do I find friends?
You can search for friends by going to Community and clicking Add Friends at the top or by going to Friends and clicking “Add Friends” at the bottom of the page and searching by username. You can also click on a member’s avatar and send them a friend request.
What can I do with friends?
You can see their activity only by clicking Only Friends in the Activity tab to keep up with what classes they’ve taken to try yourself, see their accomplishments, and “strong arm” their activity to cheer each other on! You can also tag and mention friends in your posts and comments!
Create posts, upload photos and comment! (NEW)
You can now create your own posts, upload photos, comment and tag friends, and so much more! Your new social network and built-in support system are now right inside NEOU!
What type of my activity appears on the feed?
- Member posts and comments
- Achieving a badge!
- Starting a program or challenge
- Earning the top spot on the leaderboard
What types of global activity appear on the feed?
In addition to individual achievements shown in the global feed (this is the default view of the “activity” tab when you have not selected “Friends only”), we also show recently completed on-demand classes by all members.
Can I like/comment on someone’s activity or achievement?
Yes! We love cheering each other on. To “like” (strong arm!) a feed item, press and hold the strong arm icon. You can click on the strong arm icon beneath each activity item on the web.
You can comment by clicking on the talk icon below the post.
I want to opt-out of this feature. How do I change my privacy settings?
Your privacy is important to us, and we’ve made it easy for you to change your preferences. Please visit your account page in the app and select the Privacy tab to set your privacy.
How do I invite a friend that’s not a member to NEOU?
Great idea! To invite a friend, go to your Friends tab, select the “Invite A Friend” button, and share!
Does my friend get a special deal to join?
Yes! If you invite a friend to join NEOU, they get $10 off an annual membership with promo code FRIENDS!
Can people see my profile if they are not friends with me?
No, people can only see your profile and personal information if they are your friend.
I want only my friends to see my activity, how do I remove myself from the global activity feed?
No problem! Please go to the Menu and select Privacy to change Activity to “Friends only.”
What information can people see about me?
People you have not approved as a “friend” can only see your avatar photo and your username. Both of those can be changed at any time in your account. They can also see the activity listed above, but you can opt-out of that anytime by going to Privacy settings in the menu.
When I try to use the feature, I get a message saying I’ve opted out of this feature and I need to change my settings.
If you’ve opted out of participating in Community, you will see this message if you try to use the features such as friending others, having friends, using “friends only” feed, etc. If you want to use these features again, please go to Privacy and update your privacy settings.
Can I use the Friends feature on my TV app?
The Friends feature is available on the iOS mobile apps, Android mobile apps, and neoufitness.com. We do not offer features included with Friends on TV apps.
